Our records indicate Pleasant Grove Church began in 1865. The First Service was held in Morrisville, North Carolina near the RDU airport. In August 2006, the church moved to its current location on Davis Drive in Cary. We invite you to join us for worship on Sundays, or at any one of the many opportunities to connect with us during the week. Our motto at the Grove is “Serving God Through Loving Connections” our tag line is “Get Connected”. We strive to do this through our ministries, service opportunities, and programs to connect to our local and international communities.
Pleasant Grove Church is proud to serve as one of the partners for the Angel Tree here in our community. Prior to the opening of the Christmas Store, partner organizations ask their patrons, customers and church members to donate new toys or other items to the store, for children from birth to age 14. The suggested price range for donated toys is $10-15.
The Christmas Store uses tree tags to prompt individuals to purchase an item for a child of the age and gender listed on the tag. Like many of the Christmas Store’s partner organizations, PGC puts up a tree to display tree tags for pickup by our disciples and to serve as a drop-off location for toys.
Approximately 1200 children are served each year. Since each child can receive 3 gifts, the Christmas Store stocks in excess of 3600 toys in order to meet that quota and give clients choices.
Once the Christmas Store begins and clients arrive, they are greeted, checked in for their appointment, and treated to holiday music, decorations and refreshments with the help of volunteers. Free childcare is provided by volunteers for clients who bring their children. The children will visit with Santa’s helpers, hear the Christmas story, and enjoy crafts and games.
Volunteers then assist clients in locating the items for the particular age group and gender of each registered child. When clients have finished shopping, volunteers wrap the toys. Once wrapping is completed, volunteers assist the clients in getting the gifts to their car and picking up their children from care.
The Carying Place helps working homeless families achieve independent living through mentoring of volunteers providing weekly guidance in managing personal finances, seeking permanent affordable housing, and maintaining a job – breaking the cycle of poverty they have experienced.
Over a 16-week period, these families are ‘enlightened’ about the skills required for self-sufficiency through mandatory Thursday evening meetings with their Support Partners.

For the last decade, PGC has partnered with Urban Ministries of Durham (UMD) to put God’s love in action. As we live out our motto, “serving God through loving connections,” this service opportunity allows us to work with UMD to help meet the food, shelter, clothing and supportive services for the more than 6,000 people they serve each year.
It is the mission of UMD to connect with the community to end homelessness and fight poverty by offering food, shelter and a future to neighbors in need. PGC is honored to help UMD meet its mission!!!
One of our yearly highlights is serving dinner on Thanksgiving Day. PGC disciples and friends of PGC work to prepare the meal during the week of Thanksgiving and then serve it on Thanksgiving Day.
What an awesome way of sharing with those who are not as fortunate as we are!!!

During Biblical times the Upper Room was a place devoted to prayer and reflection. Whether it is a place or space in our lives, we come to the Upper Room expecting an encounter with Christ.
The Virtual Upper Room will provide a weekly opportunity for united and focused prayer. A published schedule of topics, subject to change based on the global events of the moment, provide a call to action - to pray for the lost, needy and suffering. And our commission - to pray boldly and consistently in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Join us every Tuesday at 6:30 am and 8:30 pm EST. Each call will last approximately 15 minutes. We ask that you will take the focus of the weekly prayer and pray consistently and intently throughout the coming week.
Our 9:45 am service is a high-energy celebration service that is spiritually empowering and offers:

There are many ways for your family to…
“Get Connected @ The Grove”
At the Grove, we are committed to the Great Commission, "…to go and make disciples of all nations…". We have traveled to Niger West Africa, Uganda, Haiti, and South Africa to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Our In-House Bible Institute, local community service projects and International mission activities reflect our commitment to expanding the Kingdom of God. When you visit the The Grove you will immediately experience the love and acceptance of Jesus Christ, and find a place where you will be encouraged to grow spiritually, and mature as a disciple.
Don’t be surprised if you get a hug when you come through the doors of the church, that’s part of our DNA. I look forward to meeting you personally this Sunday and help you to get connected!
