This Sunday all PGC family members are invited to fellowship and pray with your assigned Deacon and Deacon Family Group. All PGC members are encouraged to participate and should have received a link for your family group’s dedicated Zoom line. We pray you will be blessed during this time together.
All PGC disciples are reminded to contact their assigned Deacon if you have special prayer requests or other needs. If you cannot reach your assigned Deacon, please reach out to Deacon Ophelia Taylor, Deacon Ministry Chair. If you would like your request shared with the entire PGC family, please let your deacon know.
As our state begins to ease our Stay At Home Orders, we are working to get our church ready for our return. Although it may be a while before we can all be together here in the sanctuary, plans are underway. Our “Moving Forward Task Force” has been established by Pastor Preston. A key component of their work involves input from PGC Disciples. We thank all of you who responded to the survey as your feedback is most meaningful.
Disciple Monica Dixon, our Youth Director, will be making contact with all our parents to get more input related to our children and the parents’ concerns as we are able to gather in larger numbers. The taskforce plans to give updates on a regular basis to the church family.
In an effort to meet the prayer needs of those who may be watching us via streaming live or Facebook Live on Sundays, we have established Virtual (telephone line) Magnificent Prayer starting April 5, 2020.
One of our Associate Ministers will be available by phone immediately following worship until 12:30 p.m. to receive calls from PGC disciples and our guests who would like special prayer.
Please call us at (919) 378-1680. We know that prayer changes things and that prayer can transform us and our situations.
The Pleasant Grove Church Family will celebrate Holy Communion on Sunday, June 21st, at the end of our Worship Service. Please prepare to have some bread or crackers and you can drink juice or water (whatever you have at home) to participate in Holy Communion. Shalom!

The Summer Food Program is set to begin on June 16th and end in late August. This will be an extension of what has been done to meet the food insecurities of children and their families since schools have been closed. We need you help.
The Kitchen Team is set and ready to prepare between 80 – 120 meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We will follow-up with Pastor Joseph and Deacon Keith to update the list of our Mighty PGC Men who have volunteered to help deliver meals.
Look for more information this week regarding being on site to serve meals and engage with the children and their families.
We invite you all to join us each Sunday morning via streaming live at 9:45 a.m. Click Sunday Streaming on the menu and you will be connected; scroll down and follow the prompts thereafter. We pray you will be blessed during the Worship experience.
Pastor Joseph will continue conducting Bible Study on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. We invite all the adult class participants from Sunday Morning, Wednesday noon and evening to join us via Zoom.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to all the PGC disciples and community members who have volunteered at Chatham Forest (Disciple Charlynne Phillips, Lead) and Apex First Baptist Church (Disciple Kim Bragg, Lead) to help in the fight against food insecurity (hunger.)
Under the regional leadership of Minister Karen Morant, Western Region Human Services Director, we are making a difference in the community. If you are able to volunteer, please visit our Sign-up Genius or contact the leads for the two sites. We ask for your prayers as we continue our work in the community which is exempted from the current State and County stay at home proclamations.

During Biblical times the Upper Room was a place devoted to prayer and reflection. Whether it is a place or space in our lives, we come to the Upper Room expecting an encounter with Christ.
The Virtual Upper Room will provide a weekly opportunity for united and focused prayer. A published schedule of topics, subject to change based on the global events of the moment, provide a call to action - to pray for the lost, needy and suffering. And our commission - to pray boldly and consistently in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Join us every Tuesday at 7:00 am Eastern Standard Time the call will last approximately 15 minutes. We ask that you will take the focus of the weekly prayer and pray consistently and intently throughout the coming week.
